Wanda H. Jackson SPHR, SHRM-SCP

A passion for people and supporting their success has been the driving force behind Wanda ...Jackson’s career in human resources. She is the National Urban League’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Talent Officer. Wanda joined the League after serving at A Better Chance as Director of the Business and Professional Partnership Program. There, she worked with corporations to place academically talented minority college students in full-time jobs and internships. Ms. Jackson has also worked in New York City government and in both human resources and merchandising for Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s.
As Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Talent Officer at the National Urban League, Jackson manages the day-to-day HR activities of the 116-year-old civil rights organization. Ms. Jackson also plays a key role in managing the League’s national leadership development programs and expanding young talent’s exposure to the nonprofit sector through the highly competitive Urban League Summer Internship Program.
An active community volunteer, Ms. Jackson is a member of the Nassau Community College Board of Trustees, where she chaired the 2023 CEO Search Committee and helped lead the selection of the college’s new president. Additionally, she serves on the board of the Greater Jamaica Economic Development Corporation, where she chairs the Compensation Committee.
Ms. Jackson is an award-winning executive who has been recognized by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, The Network Journal, the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Long Island Business News, and the Urban League of Long Island for her volunteer service.
Ms. Jackson is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication and received an M.S. in Human Resources Management from the New School for Social Research.
